In the pre-war years, one of the best dressmaker-tailor shops in the city, belonging to Valerija Balsiukevičienė and Juozas Kupčiūnas, could be found in Ugniagesių gatvė (Firefighters Street). The layout and streets of the city changed along with the twists and turns of history, and old buildings have disappeared, but the stories and memories remain.
