Nemunas Loops Regional Park is situated in the southern part of Lithuania, some part of it belongs to Alytus District. The Park was founded in order to protect the unique landscapes of the Great Nemunas Loops and Punia Forest, their natural ecosystems and the valuables of the cultural heritage. The Park contains 18 reserves, and many valuable objects of history, culture and nature. By biological diversity, Nemunas Loops Regional Park is one of the richest protected areas in Lithuania.
