In the forest of Karliškiai village, near Daugai, you can find the cemetery of German soldiers of the First World War. Over 100 German soldiers are buried there. According to the data of the Alytus department of the Department of Cultural Heritage: "2011 September. 88 concrete crosses were found during the inspection of the burial site. The central cross is distinguished from the others by its size. The names of the dead, date of death, affiliation to the unit, and military rank are indicated on most of the crosses. Unknown soldiers are buried in several graves. There are also Russian soldiers among them."
