In 2002 In July, the Republican symposium of woodcarvers and blacksmiths "Ancestors of the Alytus Mound" was held in Alytus, 15 woodcarvers and 5 blacksmiths participated in it. At the end of the symposium, an excellent exhibition of wooden sculptures was built at the foot of the hill, and it was possible to walk across the Alytupis stream on the bridges made by blacksmiths. In 2006 the exposition was supplemented with new sculptures, after the international sculptors' symposium "Alytus Piliakalnis 2006" held in Alytus. The whole exhibition blends harmoniously with the proudly humming hundred-year-old mound, from it, walking towards the old embankment, the eye is delighted by more than one beautiful sculpture that greets the visitor in the most unexpected places.
