In Alytus, next to the old Jewish cemetery, there is a rapidly disappearing Orthodox cemetery. There are no surviving crosses on the graves. In the territory, hidden among the trees, there is a brick chapel where a young general's wife was buried more than 100 years ago, and a beautiful angel stood in the chapel itself (this year it is kept in the Alytus Museum of Local History).
It is believed that most soldiers of the Tsarist army were buried in the cemetery. help - 20th century Ave. there were tens of thousands.
