The Papėčiai Mound opens a magnificent view of the great lakes of the Dzūkija Region: Obelija, Dusia and Metelys. According to the legend, the end of a chain was sticking out from the eastern slope of the mound. A group of people tried to pull it out but the chain broke and the end got inside the mound, and everyone who tried to pull the chain out was pulled into the underground chambers of the mountain.
